Nurture Nature Center is proud to announce its recognition by the National Weather Service as a 2017 Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador of Excellence. To celebrate the Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador Initiative surpassing some 6,000 Ambassadors, NOAA/NWS is formally recognizing those Ambassadors who have made significant contributions by serving as a change agent and leader in their community, inspiring others to be better prepared and promoting taking action to minimize or avoid the impacts of extreme weather, water and climate events.

“Nurture Nature Center has been a close cooperator with the National Weather Service, particularly in the area of flood forecasting for many years. They have conducted several social science studies that are resulting in improvements in the way we depict some more complex data sets. Their center conducts a great deal of educational outreach that supports the Weather Ready Nation.”
