Interested in learning more about floodplain management, and becoming a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)? CFMs are credentialed professionals who can assist communities in responsible floodplain management. Nurture Nature Center is hosting a review course and certification exam this month. The review course, conducted by Cleighton Smith Engineering LLC, consists of a one and a half day class ( January 12 and 13) to present and discuss key concepts of floodplain management through FEMA’s  National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The CFM Exam will take place on the afternoon of January 13th.

The CFM Program was established by the Association for Sate Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) to improve knowledge and abilities of floodplain managers in the United States.
